A truly special piece of photojournalism and written reportage. Covering everything from hanging out with biker gangs who fight for fun and an interview with an ex-spy who thinks he's Jesus. And loads more.
UNION is a high quality quarterly print magazine covering Fringe and subculture reportage and interviews. Inspiration comes from the classic magazines of old like LIFE and Paris Match. Photography is a priority and everything on every page is shot exclusively for UNION or features the archive of a featured photographer.
Here's what James Cheadle (an integral part of Loaded magazine, back when it was huge) had to say, "We’re trying to bring long form photojournalism back to fore and as the main reason for a publication rather than a sideshow. We’ve no political leanings, Libertarian if anything. We have no agenda, no bias. We just aim to publish tales of extraordinary events, activities and people."
UNION is run by James Cheadle and Martin Pashley. Both me and Martin were integral to world of Loaded for over ten years and worked together all over the world. Martin is a freelance writer and TV contributor and James is a freelance photographer. Richard Browne, a publishing director at Bauer Media designed the mag from head to toe.
The first copy of UNION includes reportage on:
- Biker fight night
- Exclusive interview with Jesus (or, rather, an ex-Mi5 spook who thinks he is Jesus)
- Weed University
- Coffee & Cake with Anonymous
- Cali vintage rock
- London's lost tribes
- LSD news
