With the A-Level specifications changing next academic year, a lot of work is having to be done to prepare for the new, old fashioned, linear two year courses, which start in September. For reasons which are threefold, I designed these A3 posters for the department's classroom walls;
1. They are useful to show the students just how much work needs to be done over the coming two years.
2. They are useful as a constant reminder to ourselves about how much work needs to be done over the coming two years.
3. I like the colours and they make my wall display a touch more interesting.
The 'Literature' poster uses classic red, white and blue from the French tricolour, for no other reason than personal preference, and the 'Lang & Lit' poster is supposed to be a nod Peter Saville and the guys behind the TV series 'Utopia'. The main headings and introductions employ Avenir's Black and Book and the explanation notes are in Helvetica Neue Bold.
